Using Yahoo Messenger or Skype


I have been using Yahoo Messenger and Skype.  I used Yahoo Messenger long time ago because my friends were only in this yahoo messenger. YM is great for chatting and I am already get used to all the emotion icons in YM.  Skype, on the other hand, I used it to make a call to land line or mobie phone.  I know that YM was able also to make this call.  However, during that time,  I did not have credit card that can be accepted by YM.  Thus, I used bank transfer that was possible in Skype.

Now…. when I used Yahoo Messenger or Skype  for both chatting and pc2pc call, i notice that:

  • Yahoo Messenger.  Great for chatting.  Simple design and powerful for sending link, copy paste, etc.  The history of chat can be accessed and moved to another pc.
  • Skype.  Great for pc2pc calling and video conference.   It is faster as compared to YM. The video is not delayed so much.

That is only my opinion. How’s yours?
