Tips to Choose Credit Cards Before Applying

If you are walking in malls or department stores, you will find many credit card agents are trying to approach you offer their products.  They will try to show the benefits of their credit card for you.   But do the benefits fit your needs?  For example, they are telling low interest credit card but currently you always do the payments before due date.  So, you do not need this feature.  If you can, you would want to trade this benefit to other that fit your need like having a cash rebate every time you use the credit card.

It is best to do your home work and compare several cards to fit your needs.   Here are some tips:

  1. Note down what you want/need from a credit card. List it down as many as possible with number 1 as the most important and go on with less important. If you consider a prestige for you business credit cards, then, you might put the prestige of company provider as number 1.
  2. Visit credit cards site that do comparison between many providers.  You can have the comparison between the preferences that you list it down in step 1.  Check one by one based on the list you made. Take your time and see their promo/deals as well.
  3. Once you are sure with want you want, apply online and not look back.  You will just waste time thinking if you made the right decision if you keep on looking back.

Most of credit cards are available to be applied online nowadays.  So you do not need to worry if some agents are telling you that the easy approval only can be done on the spot.  If you have all the requirements needed, then, you can apply it online as well.

If you are the type of person that could not control yourself in using credit card, I suggest you go with pre-paid debit cards.   If you keep on consuming your pre-paid balance even if you had planned it well.  Then, you still could not control yourself!
