Think twice before choosing a webhosting

The saying of think twice before choosing a webhosting is a common advise.  I might say think more than twice.  The reason I was saying this is because I experience it myself when tried to choose a webhosting.  Years ago when I was still beginner in online industry I would rather to pick the lowest price available in the market.  i know that it has some bad feedbacks from existing customer, but the price justifies all at that moment.  I purchased with $1 per month for 1G of storage.  I experienced 1 or 2 days down on their server every 2 weeks.  At the beginning I could tolerate that. But when my site started to grow, a downtime means an opportunity loss. At that moment I could not loose a potential customer just because I want to save several dollars per month.   To make situation worst, the fantastico programs (if you are not new to hosting, you know what i mean) available in that hosting company is not updated regulartly.

I finally needed to purchase another hosting with better reliability server up time.  Thus, whether you are beginner or expert, try to do your home work before purchasing a webhosting.  Try to know what you want NOW and what you want in 3 MONTHS.  There are many web hosting articles out there to help you.  One of the example is in webhostingrating site.  It could be good resources for beginner who are looking for cheap hosting.  How cheap that a hosting can be said that it is cheap hosting?  Is a cheap hosting always bad?  You will find the answers there.

For expert that really want specific features in the web hosting, you could differentiate between cpanel and plesk webhosting control panel.  Both are having advantages and disadvantages.  You decide whether what you want is in cpanel advantage or plesk advantage.
