Save Gas using GPS
With the increase of gas price, people tends to save gas by traveling only when necessary. Some family create list to do or visit and post them in the refrigerator so that the head of family or whoever is driving can manage the travel by car all together.
Another way to save gas is to “invest” a little on GPS. Why I say invest? Because the money that you spend would help you in saving the gas. Recent study between Motorola and North American Information Technology discovers that field employees can save up to to USD 51,582 per year by using GPS in their cars. With the estimation of a million trucking companies in United States, they could save up to USD 53 trillion for the whole industry.
With GPS device, the driver could identify the shortest distance to the destination. Advanced GPS device could also spot area that are congested/traffic. Aside from those benefits, the company could also track the location of its vehicle. This way, estimated time of arrival can be more accurate.
Recent phones are equipped with GPS technology. This would distribute the GPS technologies to private vehicles. However, just be careful when relying too much on GPS device, especially those that do not come with updated software, it could mislead you.
