Detailed Sample of Training Plan Documents
In line with my previous post about Training Plan structure, below I put the detailed example of the training plan document:
1. INTRODUCTION
This Training Plan document will present the requirements, logistics, and schedule of a two (2) month training to be given to IT personnel.
Training will include discussion about the five (5) major tools or systems used in NAME Project. The tools are: Data Gathering Mobile Application (DGMA), Data Gathering Management System (DGMS), Data Gathering Transfer Application (DGTA), Batch Processing, and Data Processing (DP).
Training will also include introduction and quick training for the programming languages used in developing the in-house tools.
2. OBJECTIVES
This document aims to show the outline and coverage of Tools Training to be given to Technical Support. Also, this document assumes that participants are familiar with Information Technology (IT) terms and have understanding in Computer Programming.
3. SCOPE
In this Training, it is assumed that the participants have Information Technology (IT) background and hence will be grouped in one (1) profile.
4. DEFINITION OF TRAINING MATERIALS
User Manuals – these are the manuals that will discuss the functionalities and the detailed procedures on how to use the systems. In this training, it is expected that each user should be provided with user manuals and handouts in English.
Presentation Materials – these are the materials that will be used during Training to illustrate and explain the topics effectively. Such materials will be:
- Dedicated room
- Projector
- Whiteboard and markers
- Notepads and pens
- Computer for demonstration with the following specifications,:
Processor Pentium 4 2.0Ghz

Microsoft SQL Server Mobile 2005
Microsoft Visual Studio 2005
PowerBuilder 6.5
Applications Data Gathering Management System (DGMS)
Batch Processing
Handheld Unit (HHU) – This HHU will be used for illustrating DGMA and DGTA. HHU should be TRIMBLE RECON GPS XC edition.
5. LOGISTICS
a) Classes- classes will be held for two (2) months from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM.
b) Documentation- Participants will be given User Manuals and handouts for easy reference.
User Manuals: DGMS, Batch Processing, DGMA, and DGTA
Handouts: Exercises, Illustrations
c) Technical Infrastructure (IT Resources)
One computer per person to be used for Training should have the specification below:
Processor Pentium 4 2.0Ghz
RAM 512 MB
Operating System Windows XP
Hard disk 80G
Accessories CD ROM Drive, 2 USB 2.0 Ports
Screen Resolution 1280 x 1024 pixels
Software Microsoft Active Sync 4.0

Microsoft SQL Server Mobile 2005
Microsoft Visual Studio 2005
PowerBuilder 6.5
Applications DGMS
Batch Processing
HHU - model should TRIMBLE RECON GPS XC edition.
d) Human Resources – Trainers from Indra will be required. Trainers should be well informed of the Data Gathering procedures, tools, and debugging of errors. Trainers are:
- MR. A (DGMS, PowerBuilder)
- MR. B (Batch Processing, Microsoft Visual Basic)
- MRS C. (DGMA, DGTA, Microsoft Visual Basic)
