Am I an Internet Addict?
I was told by my boss to go to a city 1500km away from my town. Being a “good” employee, I did not refuse the order. Anyway, it is just only 3-4 days. I went straight to home to back up and went to airport at the night yesterday.
Ariving at the destination, a driver picked me up and put me in a guest house. It is a nice house. However, there is NO INTERNET connection. How can I survive without internet connection??? I need to check my emails, I need to call my loved ones. Whoa…. today I decided to go out to find internet cafe. And here I am, online from Internet cafe.
While browsing and replying emails, I start to think. Am I an internet addict? Why I reacted such a big deal when I found there is NO INTERNET in the guest house. I think I need to assess myself whether I am an internet addict or not.
Below are some simple symptoms that I found in magazine to assess myself whether I am an internet addict or not.
Symptoms of Internet Addiction

- Losing track of time after making a connection.
- Going out less and less.
- Spending less and less time on meals at home or at work, and eating in front of the monitor.
- Denying spending too much time on the Net.
- Others complaining of your spending too much time in front of the monitor.
- Checking on your mailbox too many times a day.
- Thinking you have the greatest website in the world and dying to give people your URL.
- Logging onto the Net while already busy at work.
- Sneaking online when spouse or family members are not at home, with a sense of relief.
